How to use the Trim Video converter

  1. Drop in your video.
  2. Set where the clip should start and how long it should run.
  3. Press Cut clip and download the result.

What you can convert

Drop in any video file. One file at a time keeps the output predictable, and the convert button stays disabled until a file is in place.

The result comes back as a video cut to just the part you kept. Cut out just the part you want.

Why run it in your browser

Most online converters work the same way: you upload a file, it lands on somebody's server, gets written to a temporary folder, and is deleted afterwards. That is fine right up until the day you are converting an unreleased product mockup, a signed contract, or a client's bank statement — because all you get is a promise, not a fact.

This converter never sends your file anywhere. The work happens with JavaScript inside the page you are already looking at, so the bytes never leave your device. That is why there is no upload bar, no "file too large" ceiling, and nothing left behind on a server to delete.

There is no account to create and no watermark to remove. It also keeps working offline once loaded, which matters on a train or a patchy office Wi-Fi. If you are converting the same kind of file constantly, an automated pipeline is the better route — that is what our software solutions are for.

Good to know before you start

The cut is frame-accurate but the clip is re-encoded, so trimming a large file takes time.

Keep the original file until you have checked the output. If the result is not what you expected, try one of the related tools below rather than converting the same file repeatedly.

Common questions

Is the cut frame-accurate?
Yes — the encoder re-encodes the range from the exact timestamp rather than snapping to a keyframe, so the clip starts where you asked.
Does trimming reduce quality?
It re-encodes the kept section at a high quality setting, which is visually lossless. The discarded part is simply gone, so the file is much smaller.
Can I trim several videos at once?
One video at a time for now, so you can check the result of each cut.

Need this inside your own product?

These tools cover one-off jobs. If you need a converter built into your app, a pipeline that handles thousands of files, or a team set up with the right tooling, that is a build job — and we do those.
